Game Preview: Bergmann, Descalso filling in

Two of the most important Rockies are sitting this game out.

Nolan Arenado, after being removed from last night's game and receiving concussion testing, isn't in tonight's lineup. The tests were negative, but in late September of a lost season, it doesn't make any sense to take chances. Nolan will start the game on the bench.

Similarly, Jorge De La Rosa was scheduled to start tonight, but instead has been shut down for the remainder of the season. He reaggravated some Achilles tendinitis, and rather than push it, the Rockies are being cautious. Christian Bergmann will replace him in the rotation for this week and the next.

Other than that, it's full power for the Rockies. Tom Murphy is getting another start at C as the season winds down, but the rest of the lineup is filled with veterans.

Charlie Morton is starting for the Pirates; he has turned in an okay season, with a 4.26 ERA. Nothing to write home about, but solid enough. We will see if his sinker can tame Coors Field.
