Your weekly roundup from the sports world and internet, Jan. 12

More sad NFL fans, off-the-wall interviews, Steph Curry being awesome, LeBron catching a ball with his face, and more... It's time for your weekly roundup!

Welcome to the 38th Purple Row edition (and 143rd overall) of Tuesdays With Mitch, where we're another week closer to Opening Day. Let's get into it...

(As noted before, the "writing portions" of some of my offseason posts will be brief. For the most part, there's not much going on with the Rockies these days and the staff here at Purple Row is covering the ins and outs of the offseason better than I can in this weekly format.)

We're jumping straight into the weekly departments again today. And as you know, a few weeks ago, I added a new poll for you to vote on your favorite clips throughout the offseason. Sometime before Spring Training rolls around, we'll crown an offseason CLIP OF THE YEAR. So don't forget to vote for your favorite at the bottom of this post. (Last week's winner was Peyton Manning's trickery against the Steelers.)

Ass of the week:

I suppose Vikings kicker Blair Walsh deserves the honors this week after he gifted the Seahawks a win they didn't deserve. Nobody likes the Seahawks, Walsh.

It should be noted, however that Walsh handled the awful situation as best as he could. He answered every question that was asked and took responsibility for the loss. So that's pretty cool.

The other good thing about Walsh's screw-up? We get more sad NFL fan reaction videos! A bunch of 'em!

First this guy, who.... uhh... is he okay? (NSFW language)

Then, this young man and his friends at a bar...

And my personal favorite, the guy in the stands with the unfortunate vantage point, who thought the kick was good and celebrated for a couple seconds.

Also from this game, I love that both of the local radio calls provide an ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! right after the kick. (via SI)

Stud of the week:

Nothing like messing with news reporters on live TV. I love how flustered this lady gets.

Vine of the week:

Steph Curry is the perfect athlete for the Vine-era of highlights. It seems like every week he does something jaw-dropping on the basketball court that millennials devour in six-second loops. But this one here has to be the best Curry highlight ever. It's not just the gorgeous ball movement that has come to epitomize the way the Warriors are changing the NBA. It's the fact that the Kings bench tries to distract Curry and he turns and tells them to sit down and shut up before the ball goes through the hoop.

It's incredible.

Facebook post of the week:

Insane college football fans from the south are pretty fun to laugh at. This Mississippi State fan has had enough of Ole Miss cheating and appears ready to take things into his own hands with this very reasonable, thoughtful, and well-founded request. Go get 'em, Wade. Go get 'em.

And a bunch of other stuff from around the internet:

HAHA LOOK AT LEBRON GET HIT IN THE FACE OHH MAN THIS IS GREAT IT HITS HIM RIGHT IN THE FACE!

These little Wisconsin fans are my favorite fans. Maybe it's because I'm so familiar with both of their reactions to an unfortunate sporting event, but these little dudes might be the best thing from the whole week. The one on the right looks like he's in pain, the one on the left just has the dejected, WTF look of resignation. Good stuff!

Maryland's Melo Trimble out here breaking hearts. (via @espncbb)

A video posted by SportsCenter (@sportscenter) on

James Harden is an incredible scorer, but his passing ability is really underrated. Look at this dime!

Martivis Bryant had a decent touchdown catch on Saturday night, complete with a front flip. It makes for a pretty mesmerizing GIF.

Hey man, just because the dude boxing you out is way smaller than you doesn't mean you get to do this.

This Alabama fan decorated his truck in a way that only Alabama fans can.

Speaking of last night's super-awesome National Championship game, the coolest highlight was this view from the pylon cam. Why did it take us so long to get pylon cams?

And finally, it's been a long time since we've had a local news report that made us all laugh because of an eccentric and energetic interviewee describing a dramatic and harrowing scene. A few years ago we had a nice run with this one and this one and this one and this one. A new one surfaced yesterday and it's pretty solid.

Now go vote in the poll below!

Happy Tuesday, everybody. Thanks for readin'. See ya next week.
