Charlie Blackmon, "perplexed" by Parra signing, agrees to Rockies contract - The Denver Post
The Rockies avoided arbitration with center fielder Charlie Blackmon yesterday, as the two sides agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million deal. That number does fall closer to Blackmon's arbitration filing at $3.9 million than the Rockies $2.7 million figure.
In addition, Blackmon talked to The Denver Post's Nick Groke about the Rockies' acquisition of outfielder Gerardo Parra, saying he was "perplexed" at first, as he did not see the move coming, given the state of the Rockies outfield prior to Parra's addition, but went on to say he is glad to have Parra as a teammate.
