You're smart as heck.
I know this, of course, because you're reading this right now. Purple Row, since its inception, has been known as a thinking-person's site; yes, you can come here for human interest stories and basic coverage of the Colorado Rockies and their affiliates, but you also know that this is the place to go for -- and to share -- in-depth sabermetric analysis and general outside-the-box thinking.
Believe it or not, the Rockies know that, too. That's why they reached out to us specifically to spread the word about a few job openings within their baseball research and development department. Here are some of the details:
Analyst, Baseball R&D
This individual will collaborate with the Research and Development team and will assist in the development and maintenance of a player information and projection system along with other statistical analysis and on field strategy. This position requires strong statistical development skills and experience as well as a demonstrated ability for independent curiosity and a commitment to excellence while working within a team framework.
Systems Developer, Baseball R&D
This individual is a Baseball Systems Full-Stack Developer that will work within the Baseball Research and Development Department to collaborate and assist in the maintenance and development of proprietary databases and APIs, as well as the implementation and maintenance of data extraction, cleaning, conforming and load scripts. This position requires a demonstrated ability for independent curiosity and a commitment to excellence while working within a team framework.
Web Developer, Baseball R&D
This individual will collaborate with the Baseball Research and Development team and will assist in the continued development of the Rockies' proprietary Web Application. This position requires strong web development skills and experience as well as a demonstrated ability for independent curiosity and a commitment to excellence while working within a team framework.
