In case you missed it yesterday, the Rockies are rumored to have “mutual interest” in putting together a deal with free agent Mark Melancon. The Colorado native posted a remarkable 1.64 ERA in 75 games split between Pittsburgh and Washington in 2016. Melacon is reportedly in the Bay Area currently, meeting with the San Francisco Giants. If the Rockies could land Melancon, it would undoubtably be one of the bigger free agent signings in Rockies history, and a significant step forward in rebuilding their bullpen.
