MLB Rumours: Trumbo headed to Rockies? - TSN.ca
Toronto news outlet TSN leads their MLB rumors column with a report out of Baltimore that the Rockies are still in contention to sign free agent Mark Trumbo. Despite a busy offseason that has so far seen the Rockies hire Bud Black as manager and sign free agents Ian Desmond and Mike Dunn for a combined $89 million, Colorado seems to be still quite active in both the trade and free agent markets.
Trumbo is not the only free agent at first base the Rockies have been linked to, and there could be good news for them on that front as FanRag’s Jon Heyman tweeted yesterday that the Indians, another team looking for a first basemen, have made some low offers to free agents, which means the market for Trumbo, Edwin Encarnacion, and others could be softening even more. Stay tuned to see how things develop.
