Colorado Avalanche vs. Detroit Red Wings: The first Coors Field sporting event of the year

I don't know anything about hockey, except that they play three 20-minute periods and... six (?) guys are on the ice, so I will probably not be contributing much to this discussion thread personally, but if you want to chat about the puck tonight, this is the place to do it.

The Colorado Avalanche are playing the Detroit Red Wings tonight at Coors Field, and I do know that those two teams have had a hell of a rivalry, so this should be a good one. Also, hey, Coors Field, so even if it's not a good one, uh, you can enjoy the baseball stadium and just think about how in a few more short weeks all the magic be happening again.

Here's your game thread, jump in the comments, and for goodness' sake somebody teach me about hockey. A few questions to get you started since this isn't, like, the most serious game thread that's ever been created:

1. How long has it been since you were last on ice skates?

2. If you had to pick one Purple Row writer to have a beer with, who would it be? (Oh, you're buying. Disclaimer: I like cheap beer.)

3. Because we do have to talk about what really matters... what will the Rockies' record be this season?
