Life is good, ain't it? The Colorado Rockies are two games over .500 and pretty much dominating the standings, Carlos Gonzalez is hitting home runs, Jason freakin' Gurka is striking out more batters than is legally allowed, and now, Jorge De La Rosa makes his triumphant 2016 debut in the club's Thursday afternoon game against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Rockies and Reds will do battle at 1:10 pm MT at Salt River Fields today, with De La Rosa facing off against Reds starter Brandon Finnegan. After De La Rosa, the Rockies are going to throw Tyler Chatwood, Yohan Flande (giggity), and Carlos Estevez out there against Cincinnati.
De La Rosa, of course, is probably going to be the Rockies' Opening Day starter barring a very surprising change of events over the next three weeks. While he's not going to go more than a few innings out there today in his spring debut, everything is, in fact, coming up Milhouse. Hip hip, Jorge!
Here's the Rockies' lineup, per the club's Twitter account:
1 — Charlie Blackmon — CF
2 — Trevor Story — SS
3 — Carlos Gonzalez — RF
4 — Nolan Arenado — 3B
5 — Ryan Raburn — DH
6 — Gerardo Parra — LF
7 — DJ LeMahieu — 2B
8 — Ben Paulsen — 1B
9 — Dustin Garneau — C
No TV for this one. But for your listening pleasure in the Denver media market, the game is available on KOA Radio. For those outside the market, you can listen to the game day audio online here.
Side note: still taking questions from y'all before I head back to Scottsdale to talk to the Rockies over parts of the next three weeks. Got something you want to know, or a player you want us to interview? Have a question (big leaguer or minor leaguer) I can explore during my time in Arizona? Let me know in the comments, I'll see what I can do!
