Nolan Arenado follows footsteps of role models | Rockies.com

Nolan Arenado told Lyle Spencer of MLB.com about his role models; among them were Adrian Beltre and former teammate Troy Tulowitzki. However, Arenado also proved to be a man after my own heart, as he praised Pirates great Roberto Clemente. Clemente of course, died in a tragic plane crash 19 years before Arenado was born, but thanks to the influence of his father, he developed an appreciation for the Hall of Famer.

Jason Motte fits in easily with Rockies | MLB.com

Doug Miller wrote a nice piece for MLB.com on journeyman Jason Motte, who seems to be fitting in quite well with the Rockies. Walt Weiss had a number of nice things to say as well about the man the Rockies hope will help bolster the back of the bullpen.

Thursday marked the end of the Cubs career of former Rockies reliever Rex Brothers. In his final appearance, he threw four wild pitches in one inning. The best of luck to Brothers as he searches for a new home.

Rockies compete in a bunting competition at spring training - Denver Post TV

This is the best thing I've seen out of Rockies spring training so far. After morning meetings, the Rockies held a high stakes bunting competition that was won by Chris Rusin. Everyone had fun, except maybe Ryan Casteel, who lost $1000 on the proceedings. This is way fun.
