Rockies 2016 spring training Game No. 10: Chad Bettis faces Cody Anderson, Indians

Chad Bettis, arguably the Rockies' best starter last season, makes his 2016 Cactus League debut.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Today is a good day.

Chad Bettis, who was perhaps the Colorado Rockies' best pitcher a year ago and was certainly the biggest pleasant surprise for the club, will make his 2016 Cactus League debut today against the Cleveland Indians at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Bettis, who posted a 4.23 ERA (110 ERA+) with 7.7 K/9 in 20 starts for the Rockies in 2015, hasn't necessarily been slowed by anything this spring -- it's more that there's probably no reason for him to throw unnecessary pitches, especially considering the place he's in after a strong end to last season.

If Bettis can have anywhere close to the outing that Jorge De La Rosa had in his spring debut yesterday, it will be a resounding success. De La Rosa held the Reds scoreless while registering four strikeouts in three innings in the Rockies' loss yesterday.

Here are the lineups for both teams on what is apparently Snapchat Day at the ballpark:
