The 'igniter' Barnes capitalizes on loose spring day — MLB.com

A big and good day for Brandon Barnes on Saturday afternoon in the Colorado Rockies 5-5 tie with the San Diego Padres. Ties are like kissing your sister, they say. I wouldn't know anything about that. I do know Barnes is fighting for his big league life along side new fourth outfielder competitor Ryan Raburn.

Garneau won't stop competing in big leagues — MLB.com

Dustin Garneau is a good dude, and it looks like — though he won't go and jinx it — he's about to break camp with the big league club and have at least Opening Day and then some time in the Majors. One of my favorite Rockies to interview, hands down; there is still a lot of time left in camp for things to change, of course, but this honestly couldn't happen to a better guy.

Weiss optimistic about rotation's progress — MLB.com

Walt Weiss is happy with what he's seen so far from the big league club's (rough) rotation. Obviously, that's a rotation without even Chris Rusin competing for a job, but if he likes what he sees from the top five this time around, then hey, maybe the Rockies can actually find some consistency week to week, month to month through an entire season. Wouldn't that be nice!
