With Spring Training coming to a close, the Rockies are fitting in two game today against the Milwaukee Brewers and also against the Chicago Cubs. Previous springs the Rockies have played more split squad games but also had more off days as well. This year, the Rockies decided to split their squad only once, but also only had one off day which I'm sure most of us appreciated.
Against the Brewers at Salt Rivers Field, the Rockies are sending most of their expected Opening Day starting lineup. That includes Jorge De La Rosa who has been announced as the starter for the opener next Monday evening against the Diamondbacks.
The team travelling to face the Cubs is not quite as impressive, though it does boast former first round pick, Chris Nelson. Also in the lineup is newly anointed backup catcher, Tony Wolters, who has had a tremendous spring so far. David Hale also takes the mound for his first start of the spring.
