Your Colorado Rockies are now 4-2 in spring training, and basic math tells me that extrapolates out to a 108-54 record over 162 regular season games. That would be pretty good. They will probably win 108 games during the regular season, so it's good that we're getting a taste of it now, ya know?
OK, so a 108-win season actually probably isn't in the cards, but the Rockies will still be above .500 after Tuesday afternoon's game against the Kansas City Royals (2-5) no matter what happens. That's cool, they should keep doing that. Yeah, it's really early, and sure, these games don't count, but, uh, let's just enjoy some wins right now?!
Today, the Rox and Royals will meet at 1:05 pm MT. A road game in Surprise for the Rockies, righty Edinson Volquez is set to start for the defending World Series champs. For Colorado's part, they'll send Jordan Lyles to the hill to get a little work..
After Lyles' hopefully stellar outing, Shane Carle, Jason Motte, Scott Oberg, Gonzalez Germen, and Brian Schlitter are all scheduled to throw; of course, Schlitter threw one-third of an inning in the Rockies' Monday win, and I'd be surprised to see him going on back-to-back days this early in the spring, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
There's no TV or radio for this contest, at least not in Denver. The Royals' radio team will be broadcasting this one, though; you can listen to their broadcast of the game online here.
