WATCH THE GAME HERE!
The Colorado Rockies and Eddie Butler face off Wednesday afternoon at Scottsdale Stadium against the team that's probably going to win the World Series. It's the Rockies' first time facing the San Francisco Giants this spring, and our first look at Scottsdale Stadium, too. The game starts at 1:05 pm MT.
Butler will face off against Giants starter Johnny Cueto, one of the starters the G-men added over the winter through free agency. After Butler for the Rox—he's scheduled to throw three innings today—we'll get Harrison Musgrave for two frames, and then Jake McGee, Chad Qualls, Jason Gurka, and Justin Miller each throwing one inning apiece, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding.
Here's the Rockies' lineup:
1 — Gerardo Parra — CF
2 — DJ LeMahieu — 2B
3 — Carlos Gonzalez — RF
4 — Nolan Arenado — 3B
5 — David Dahl — LF
6 — Mark Reynolds — 1B
7 — Nick Hundley — C
8 — Daniel Descalso — SS
9 — Kyle Parker — DH
That's according to the Rockies' official Twitter account. Available position players of note that may come off the bench today include Raimel Tapia, Dom Nunez, Cristhian Adames, and Rosell Herrera. It looks like the Rockies are also bringing Brian Schlitter, Simon Castro, and Nelson Gonzalez to the Giants' home park, in case pitching gets hairy today. Cross your fingers.
Want to follow the game? Tough luck, it ain't on TV or radio in Denver. It's also not available through any Rockies feed online; you can listen to the Giants' MLB.com audio feed, though. Click here to do that.
Now, get to commenting! Also, a question: I'll be back in Scottsdale three more times this March; who do you want me to talk to in the Rockies' organization? Planning on a few days with the big leaguers and a few more on minor league backfields to get a nice mix, but if you've got a specific player/angle request, let me know — I'll see what I can do.
