The penultimate Spring Training game of the year is upon us. The Rockies travel to Peoria Stadium to face the Seattle Mariners and play a rare spring training evening game.
As is often the case late in Spring Training, the Rockies have banished their actual starting pitchers to abbreviated outings in minor league games. Christian Bergman will start for the Rockies and will probably be the only pitcher we see tonight that will actually make the Rockies 25-man roster on opening day. Yohan Flande will back him up, much to the delight of the rabid Flande fans in our midst.
The lineup features a few more of the Rockies expected active roster players but only three of the expected opening day starters: Trevor Story, Nolan Arenado, and Ben Paulsen.
The Mariners, as the home team as fielding a lineup that is likely going to be very similar to their Opening Day lineup, and features two former Rockies: Seth Smith and Chris Iannetta.
