Jordan Patterson and Brendan Rodgers each produced four RBIs to lead all Rockies prospects in Tuesday’s action. Patterson, the No. 18 Purple Row Prospect (PuRP), capped a five-run first inning for Albuquerque with a grand slam off the foul pole with his first home run of the season and extending his hitting streak to 10 games. The Isotopes jumped out to eight early runs in the first two innings and cruised to victory despite an off night from starter Jeff Hoffman, who needed 84 pitches to get through 3⅔ innings of work.
Rodgers, the No. 4 PuRP and third overall draft pick in 2015, hit two home runs in Asheville’s loss. This was his first multi-home run game of his career, and his third and fourth homers of the season. The Tourists committed four errors in the game, including one from Rodgers, leading to five unearned runs and the difference in the game.
