Asheville Tourists shortstop Brendan Rodgers, who was the No. 3 overall pick by the Rockies in the 2015 draft, was named to Jonathan Mayo's prospect team of the week at MLB.com. In six games in the past week, Rodgers hit .360/.407/.800 with three home runs and a pair of stolen bases, driving in 10.

The staff at 2080 Baseball has compiled reports from the western portion of the country, which include updates on several Rockies prospects, including pitchers Jon Gray and Jeff Hoffman as well as Modesto Nuts standouts Forrest Wall and Sam Howard. Rockies move Chris Rusin to starting rotation - MLB.com
After another rough start from Rockies pitcher Jordan Lyles on Sunday, Colorado optioned the right-hander to Triple-A Albuquerque. Lefty Chris Rusin, who has not allowed a run in his last 9⅔ innings of long relief, will replace Lyles in the starting rotation, getting the ball against the Diamondbacks on Friday. Right-hander Scott Oberg was recalled from Albuquerque to take Rusin's spot in the Rockies bullpen.
Rockies' Weiss: 4-man outfield idea "ridiculous" - The Denver Post
Patrick Saunders asked Rockies manager Walt Weiss about the notion first floated by ESPN.com's Buster Olney last week that the Rockies use four outfielders at Coors Field. Weiss, as well as ROOT Sports' Cory Sullivan, dismissed the idea as silliness, with Weiss using some of the same terms he probably used later in the evening to describe Lance Barrett's strike zone, which resulted his ejection from Monday's loss to the Pirates.
