With his home run in the first inning of Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Trevor Story became the first person in MLB history to hit a home run in each of his first three games.
Story adds this to a list of accolades that he has already recorded with his hot start, a list that includes being the first person to hit two home runs in his MLB debut that came on Opening Day, and just the fifth player to accomplish this feat in his debut, going back to 1900. He also became just the second Rockies player to have a home run as his first MLB hit, following Jay Gainer in 1993.
It has been an exciting start to the season for a rookie who saw some controversy surrounding his promotion following a hot spring. In three games so far, he has gone 4-for-12 with four home runs and seven RBIs.
