Rockies blown out by Phillies in final game before All-Star break

This is one to forget.

The Colorado Rockies may have scored the first run of the game, but the visiting Philadelphia Phillies put up ten of the next 11 en route to a blowout victory on Sunday afternoon, beating the home club and securing a four-game series split with a 10-3 victory at Coors Field.

Tyler Chatwood started for the Rockies, and ended up going five full innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two hitters. In relief, both Jake McGee (a homer and two runs while recording just one out) and Jason Motte (a homer and four runs in an inning of work) pushed the game out of control for the Rockies, and the Phillies coasted to the victory.

At the plate for the Rockies, Carlos Gonzalez slugged a long home run, his 19th, and DJ LeMahieu and Nick Hundley each collected two hits on the day.

After four days off now for the All-Star Break, the Rockies resume play on Friday with a three-game series in Atlanta against the Braves.
