Colorado Rockies reliever Adam Ottavino set for imminent return

The right-hander could be activated from the 60-day disabled list as early as today.

Colorado Rockies reliever Adam Ottavino rejoined the team after nearly three weeks on a minor league rehab assingnment as part of his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and could be activated as early as today. The right-hander is ahead of schedule in his rehab after strong outings Friday and Saturday with Triple-A Albuquerque and talked with Nick Groke about his pending return to the big leagues.

A trio of Rockies are in the running to make the National League starting lineup for the All-Star Game, which will be announced tonight. Trevor Story and Nolan Arenado were in second place at their respective positions with Carlos Gonzalez seventh among outfielders.

Rockies prospect David Dahl does oh so good in his Triple-A debut - Purple Row

Chris Jackson (aka TopesWriter) made his Purple Row debut last night, covering outfielder David Dahl’s debut for Triple-A Albuquerque. Dahl, No. 2 on the most recent PuRPs list, was 3-for-5 in his first game with the Isotopes with a home run and an RBI single in Albuqerque’s 7-2 victory over El Paso.
