Modesto hits four home runs in 12-10 shootout win

The Modesto Nuts offense hasn't had many highlights this season, but last night in Lancaster may have given them a few moments to remember. Tallying 14 hits, four of them home runs, the Nuts escaped a shootout with the JetHawks in a 12-10 victory.

Dom Nunez and Forrest Wall, recently named to the midseason PuRP's list as two of the top 30 prospects in the Rockies system, added two home runs and five RBI in the victory. Both prospects have largely struggled to find consistent production this season in Modesto, but a two hit night for both raised their averages over .250. Nunez has now recorded a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, raising his average 20 points over the last two weeks.

Noted relative of Nolan Arenado, Josh Fuentes, added his fifth home run and Wes Rogers tallied three hits in the offensive explosion.

The Nuts are now 44-70 after the victory.
