We're heading into the final weekend of the 2016 minor-league season. Players like Brendan Rodgers and Riley Pint will receive much deserved breaks as they prepare to lead the next class of Rockies prospects.
But, just because the minor-league season is coming to an end doesn't mean there isn't going to be prospect news. It's just going to be coming from the majors. Four of the top 10 PuRPs from our last poll are currently on the major-league roster. The fourth ranked PuRP Raimel Tapia collected his first big-league hit last night; he was driven in by No. 1 PuRP David Dahl. No. 10 PuRP Tyler Anderson will pitch on Tuesday, and No. 2 Jeff Hoffman might follow him on Wednesday. Dahl and Anderson won't be eligible for our next round of voting. And it's likely that you'll only be able to cast a PuRP vote for Hoffman and Tapia one more time, as they're both on track to play themselves out of eligibility.
The minor-league season is winding down, but the Rockies have prospects on the big stage.
