Nolan Arenado on his way to 5th straight Gold Glove

Nolan Arenado and DJ LeMahieu have picked up prestigious defensive awards.

With a week to go until the Gold Glove winners are revealed, two of the Rockies three Gold Glove finalists earned another prestigious award for their defense. Both Nolan Arenado and DJ LeMahieu earned 2017 Fielding Bible Awards as the best defenders at their position in baseball. Arenado won the award in 2016 as well. He appears to be a lock to take home his fifth consecutive Gold Glove award.

The awards are voted on by a 12-person panel, and Arenado received 118 of 120 possible points in the balloting, beating runner up Matt Chapman by a whopping 23 points. LeMahieu, meanwhile, received 108 points with runner up Ian Kinsler getting 97.
