The Colorado Rockies released their 25-man roster for the National League Wild Card game tonight. The roster is made up of 10 pitchers and 15 position players. The Rockies included one more position player than we predicted. They’ll carry a third catcher, Ryan Hanigan, to accompany Tony Wolters and Jonathan Lucroy (no Tom Murphy, but that was more suggestion than prediction). The Rockies have also elected to roster Alexi Amarista, while leaving off Ryan McMahon. Finally, as anticipated, Kyle Freeland won’t be on the roster, but Tyler Anderson will be. Adam Ottavino is also missing from the 25-man. The proclivity to walk batters is the last thing one would want in a one-game playoff.
Jon Gray is tonight’s starter against Zack Greinke and Tyler Anderson will also be available from the Rockies rotation in case the Rockies have to use a short leash. Hopefully, that will not be necessary and the Rockies’ ace can turn the game directly over to the Rockies bullpen with a lead.

Despite it being only one game, the Wild Card is its own series so this roster is just for tonight's game. Because of that, the makeup of the roster is a bit different than what one would expect from a Divisional Series roster. The Rockies will be able to make changes to their roster before their series with the LA Dodgers should they beat the Diamondbacks.
