The best pictures from the Colorado Rockies photo day

What looks better, Blackmon’s beard or Gray’s hair?

One of the bests days of spring training was yesterday. While not as good as the first game day, which is tomorrow, Rockies photo day provides us with a lot of fun photos that we’ll get to see the rest of the year. Here are some of our favorites.

For those wondering about whether or not some of the returning Rockies had changed their appearances here’s some updates.

Charlie Blackmon appears to have continued to grow out his beard. It seems girthier. At this point, I think an acceptable wager is whether or not his beard reaches his belt before he retires.

There was some concern from those following Jon Gray’s social media accounts that he had cut his hair at one point. It appears that those fears are completely unfounded.

Tony Wolters still has the best smile on the team. Dreamy.

I had trouble recognizing this young pitcher until I realized that he was missing his glasses. Not sure if this was just for photo day or if he’s decided to ditch the glasses while on the mound as well.

A few of the Rockies biggest offseason acquisitions made appearances as well. First baseman Ian Desmond was very photogenic, including this wonderful shot of what he looks like when people say he can’t play first base.

Mike Dunn really wanted to show off this pitch grip. If you want to show off your baseball knowledge be sure to share what pitch this grip is for.

While not a physical difference, Jason Motte was rocking a pink glove at photo day. Last season he used a black glove in game and may continue to do so; however, this will definitely be worth keeping an eye on if it appears in game.

I’ve never noticed it before and it may just be this photo shoot, but there’s an uncanny resemblance between Jake McGee and Gru from the Despicable Me film series.
