After their off-day Wednesday and exhibition against Puerto Rico yesterday, the Colorado Rockies return to Cactus League action today against the Cincinnati Reds.
Chad Bettis was the scheduled starter for today’s game before the horrible news about the cancer spreading came out today. Instead, German Márquez will take the mound for the Rockies and Cody Reed will be the starting pitcher for the Reds. This will Be Márquez’s second start of the spring and third appearance. His last appearance was a rough one as he allowed four earned runs in 1.1 innings.
The Rockies lineup does not include a single player expected to be a start on opening day and only a few players who are expected to even be on the opening day roster.
Rockies pitching prospect Kyle Freeland appears to be scheduled to pitch today after Márquez.
