The Rockies have started to makes some early roster moves, as they reassigned six players to their minor league camp.
The players reassigned to the minors were: right-handed pitchers Ryan Castellani and Johendi Jiminian, left-handed pitcher Sam Howard, catcher Chris Rabago, infielder Ryan McMahon and outfielder Rosell Herrera. The moves don’t come as any surprise, as none of the players were expected to break camp with the major league squad.

Of this group, McMahon and Castellani are the highest rated prospects. McMahon comes in at No. 7 on our PuRP rankings after a full season with the Hartford Yard Goats with a slash line of .242/.325/.724. Castellani, No. 9 PuRP, spent all of last season in Modesto, going 7-8 with a 3.81 ERA and 7.6 K/9 rate over 1672⁄3 innings. Sam Howard is also included on the PuRP rankings at No. 20.
After these assignments the Rockies now have 56 players in their Major League camp, including 16 non-roster players.
