While the focus has been on the exciting battle for the final spots in the starting rotation, the Rockies were also faced with decisions about how to fill out their bench. Thomas Harding reports that Cristhian Adames and Stephen Cardullo got the nod over Pat Valaika and Chris Denorfia.

The Rockies also announced that Scott Oberg beat Jason Motte out for a spot in the bullpen. In turn, the team designated Motte for assignment.
