Over the last few years Major League Baseball has started a tradition of providing teams with alternate uniforms for specific holidays that happen throughout the season.

Today, teams released their specific uniform and cap sets that they will be wearing for Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, and Independence Day. Each uniform set has a specific theme corresponding with the holiday that every team implements into their uniform template. Each team will be sporting pink accents on Mother’s Day, a camouflage theme on Memorial Day, blue accents on Father’s Day and a big blast of AMERICA for the 4th of July.

This season the teams will be wearing the special alternate uniforms for the full weekend, as opposed to just the date of the holiday. So instead of having to endure the bright pink highlights on one day, fans will get to enjoy them for a whole weekend.

The Rockies uniform sets that were unveiled don’t exactly stand out from what the rest of the league is doing, other than the Independence Day set that looks particularly jarring with the red outline around the jersey plate and numbers. Unless your favorite color happens to be Carolina blue or hot pink, you probably won’t be breaking out your wallet to purchase any of these specialty items.

The Rockies color scheme and jersey template isn’t exactly made for special occasions like these. Other teams like the Braves and Cubs will have great 4th of July uniforms because their color set already lends itself the theme.

In addition to the holiday uniforms, MLB release images of the All-Star Weekend duds that look VERY Miami (the host of the mid-summer classic). If only the C-R wasn’t orange on the hat...they might sell pretty well.
