Rockies prospect Germán Márquez has stellar outing

New, 11 comments

Rockies prospect and farm report for games from April 15, 2017

Germán Márquez was stellar in his second Triple-A appearance of the season. In 313 innings, he allowed just two hits and struck out seven without walking a batter. Thirty four of Márquez’s 50 pitches were strikes. The Rockies are already testing their rotation depth, and an effective and stretched out Márquez would go along way towards shoring it up. The Rockies will need someone else to step in at some point this season.

From the prospect bats, it was a pretty quiet day. Ryan McMahon got another extra base hit, and Forrest Wall hit a home run. It’s nice to see that from two players who struggled in 2016. Wall played center field again in last night’s game.

Looking to today, just two of the affiliates play. Jeff Hoffman will get the ball for the Isotopes. That game starts at 2:35 MT.
