Colorado Rockies prospect Raimel Tapia among several to enjoy a big day at the plate

New, 11 comments

Prospect news and game results from the Rockies minor league affiliates from Thursday, April 27, 2017.

All the runs in the Rockies organization were scored on the farm on Tuesday, as three different teams combined to produce 26 runs.

As would be expected, this made for a lot of big individual performances, headlined by no. 4 PuRP Raimel Tapia. Tapia fell a homer shy of the cycle against Las Vegas, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Tapia is hitting .355/.394/.581 after his brief stint in the majors and .318/.435/.587 overall in 14 games for AAABQ.

Also with a big day was Brendan Rodgers for the JetHawks. The Rockies consensus top prospect continued his good week with a 2-for-5 night, including his first extra base hit of the season (an RBI double in the third) and later added a run scored. Rodgers began the season on the disabled list and has now played in four consecutive games. He’s yet to take a walk this season, but, hey, it’s still early. No reason to panic.
