The Lancaster JetHawks have placed Brendan Rodgers (PuRP no. 1) on the disabled list. Tyler Maun of milb.com is reporting that the Rockies’ top prospect will be unavailable for a while with his injured hand.

Brendan Rodgers was surprsingly not in yesterday’s lineup on Opening Day for the JetHawks. Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reported this morning that it was due to a minor hand injury, and that they were waiting to see how it responded to treatment.

Rodgers was the Rockies top overall prospect on every major prospect list this past offseason including our own PuRP rankings. He has struggled with minor injuries and fatigue in both of his first two professional seasons and was hoping to have a fully healthy season in Lancaster. Rodgers will be eligible to return from the DL after only seven days.

Last year for the Asheville Tourists, Rodgers hit .281/.342/.480 with 19 home runs in 110 games.
