The Colorado Rockies continue to make surprise roster moves today, placing Trevor Story on the 10-day disabled list. A strained left shoulder is the cause according to Patrick Saunders. Story appeared to have injured his left shoulder on a swing on Tuesday and was not in the lineup yesterday.

This may be the corresponding move to open a 25-man roster spot for Jeff Hoffman who is starting tonight’s game for Tyler Anderson. Anderson’s start has been pushed back until Saturday after tweaking his knee in his last start. However, until we see an official lineup card from the Rockies there may still be further roster moves today.

The Rockies will count of Pat Valiaka and Alexi Amaraist to replace Story in the lineup. While replacing Story’s production would seem like a tall order coming into this season. this season’s production will be much easier to replace.

Story has struggled to make contact this season, though his power has been as prolific as ever when he has hit the ball. In 33 games this year, Story has hit .180/.289/.396 with six home runs and 15 RBIs.
