Update 5/17 6:45 pm MT
Tonight’s Rockies game against the Minnesota Twins has officially been rained out. No baseball will be played at Target Field today. Instead we’ll get our second doubleheader in as many weeks on Thursday. First pitch of Game 1 will be 11 am MT, with Game 2 coming at 5 pm MT.
Tonight's game has been postponed.

Doubleheaders on a getaway day are tough, but the Rockies and Twins don’t really have any better options. Since the game has officially been called for the night, feel free to contribute to what has now become an Open Thread. Here are the questions:
- What other sports would the best players on the Rockies be well-suited for and why? If they couldn't play baseball what sport should they play?
- If the Rockies (or another favorite team) moved cities, would you still support them
- What is your favorite movie from the past five years?
Update 5/17 5:58 pm MT
Tonight’s game will indeed start in a rain delay. However, the Twins seem determined to get this game in, so expect a game sometime tonight if they can find a decent window of weather.
#rockies #twins will start in a delay tonight from Minneapolis

Update 5/17 5:35 pm MT
The radar is painting a different, less optimistic picture. Weather, man: what are you gonna do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Update 5/17 5:08 pm MT
A postponement at this point would not be ideal logistically, so this news is probably quite welcome:
It's stopped raining at Target Field. We just might get #Rockies #Twins game in tonight.

Update 5/17 3:45 pm MT
Until a game starts, the manager of the home team decides whether or not the game will be delayed or postponed. It appears that the Twins manager is currently favoring a delay.
Molitor said Twins want to wait awhile to see if game can be played. He'd prefer a late start tonight to a doubleheader tomorrow.

Update: 5/17 3:03 pm MT
The weather isn’t looking too good right now. Just hoping at this point that it moves out early enough for the game to get started at some point tonight.

Update: 5/17 2:50 pm MT
Patrick Saunders posted tonight’s lineup along with the update that it’s starting to rain.

Due to some inclement weather in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, the second game of a three game set between the Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins could be delayed or postponed. Bad weather has already moved into the area according to Patrick Saunders. Like last night, the hope is that it will disperse before game time.
After winning the series opener last night, the Rockies may be looking at playing their second double header in as many weeks tomorrow if they can’t get this game in between the rain.
This is an interleague matchup, so obviously the Rockies won’t be visiting the Twin Cities again after this week. The closest they will come to the Minnesota will be at the end of July, when they travel to St Louis for three game set from the 24th to the 26th. The teams do have a mutual off day scheduled for July 27th, if they absolutely had to postpone a game this week and couldn’t make it up as part of a double-header. There’s also the distinct possibility they wouldn’t make up the game unless the result would impact playoff races.
We will have updates on the weather and the status of the game as they become available.
If you want to share your own updates in the comments feel free. Otherwise, we’ll wile away the time by considering the following topics:
- What other sports would the best players on the Rockies be well-suited for and why? If they couldn't play baseball what sport should they play?
- If the Rockies (or another favorite team) moved cities, would you still support them?
- What is your favorite movie from the past five years?
