Coming off a pair of series wins to begin a 10-game road trip, the Colorado Rockies will begin a four-game series in Philadelphia tonight.

After a doubleheader in Minnesota on Thursday, the Rockies have called up righty Jeff Hoffman to make a spot start tonight. It will be Hoffman's second big league start of the season, with his first outing coming May 11 against the Dodgers at Coors Field in which he allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings, with two walks and eight strikeouts.

Hoffman takes on a Phillies team that has lost six of its last seven games. The big threat in the lineup for Philadelphia is left fielder Aaron Altherr, who bats third tonight. Altherr is hitting .299/.390/.607 in 34 games this season with a team-high eight home runs.

On the mound for the Phillies tonight is right-hander Jerad Eickhoff. It will be Eickhoff's third career start against the Rockies, with both of the first two coming last season. In those two outings, he allowed 11 runs on 18 hits in 11 innings with four walks and six strikeouts. The Phillies are 1-7 in Eickhoff's eight starts in 2017.

The Rockies have loaded up the lineup with lefties against Eickhoff, who has allowed left-handed hitters to hit for an .829 OPS against him in his career against just a .598 OPS for right-handed hitters against him. Gerardo Parra will start in left field and Alexi Amarista starts at shortstop, with Ian Desmond and Pat Valaika on the bench.

First pitch tonight is at 5:05 p.m. Mountain time.
