A unique approach for Rockies pitching coaches Steve Foster and Darren Holmes has helped the team's young staff to their good start to the season. Rather than sticking to the traditional roles of a pitching coach and a bullpen coach, the pair work in tandem with the entire staff, with Foster focusing more on the mental aspect of the game and Holmes more on the pitchers' mechanics. Marquez aims for third straight strong start | MLB.com
One of those young pitchers, right-hander German Marquez, will look to make a third consecutive strong start when he faces the Phillies tonight. Marquez allowed just one run in five innings in his previous start in Minnesota and shut out the Cubs for eight innings at Coors Field in the start before that.
