A five-run eighth inning put the cap on a wild affair in Lancaster on Monday night. The JetHawks 11-7 victory contained 25 combined hits to bring in the 18 runs. Rockies top prospect Brendan Rodgers provided two hits on the night, raising his average to a modest .390 in his first 32 games of the season. The JetHawks had eight of the nine starters get a hit last night, with only Garrett Hampson being blanked (though he did walk three times to make up for it). Sam Hilliard added the pop with his eighth home run of the season.
The JetHawks offense has now powered the squad to four straight victories, scoring 35 runs in those four games and boosting the team to 29-23. The Hawks end May with an outstanding 18-10 record in the month, putting them two games ahead of Rancho Cucamonga for first place in the Cal League South.
