Colorado Rockies prospect Sam Hilliard has banner day for Lancaster Jethawks

Colorado Rockies minor league news, notes and scores from May 4, 2017

The Rockies minor-league affiliates had a rough day yesterday. The three teams that did play all lost and Asheville was postponed due to rain. Despite the losses there were still some individual performance worth noting though.

Sam Hilliard continued his assault on the California league with four more hits last night including his third home run of the season. He also drove in five of the JetHawks eight runs and is positioning himself well to shoot up the midseason prospect ranking updates. For the season, Hilliard is now hitting .362/.430/.553 with three home runs and eight stolen bases. While the Cal League and the Lancaster stadium have helped in that production it still equates to a 171 wRC+.
