After dropping their series finale against the Cubs in Chicago yesterday, the Rockies will look to get back on track as they open a series with the Pirates at PNC Park.
It seems only appropriate that on draft day, a pair of first-round picks will face off in Pittsburgh tonight.
Lefty Kyle Freeland, selected eighth overall by the Rockies in 2014, takes the mound for Colorado tonight in what will be his seventh start away from Coors Field, and the Rockies are undefeated in his first six. He has posted a 3.18 ERA in those six road starts, as well.
Jameson Taillon, taken as the second overall pick by Pittsburgh in 2010, has the ball for the Pirates tonight. The 25-year-old right-hander is making his return to the mound tonight after missing more than a month after undergoing surgery for testicular cancer. He has a 3.31 ERA in six starts this season.
