Lancaster JetHawks shortstop Brendan Rodgers notched a fifth inning single to extend his hitting streak to 23 games in a 4-1 loss at Rancho Cucamonga.
Rodgers also added a triple later in the game to bump his batting average to .404, which leads all of minor league baseball. On a more macro level, Rodgers is hitting .404/.425/.695 with 35 extra-base hits in 46 games with the JetHawks.
These may be the last days in Lancaster for the Rockies’ top prospect, as he is knocking down the door for a promotion to Double-A Hartford, which he may just get after participating in the California League All-Star Game next week.
For now, the 20-year-old will have to settle for more feasting on High-A pitching.
