The Colorado Rockies look to continue their season-long dominance against the San Francisco Giants today.
Charlie Blackmon gets the day off today allowing Raimel Tapia to get his fourth straight start. In his three previous starts, Tapia has gone 8-13 including the walk-off hit on Thursday night’s game. Black is looking to capitalize on his ability to get on base by slotting him in the lead-off spot for today’s game
Kyle Freeland will take the mound today for the Rockies. For the season Freeland has extremely solid numbers with a 3.57 ERA in 75 2⁄3 innings. His last start in Pittsburgh was a little rough as he gave up five runs, four earned, in 5 2⁄3 innings. The Rockies bullpen has looked a little ragged and tired the last few nights so a strong start from Freeland could be a massive boost.
Matt Cain drew the short straw today for a Giants rotation that has struggled immensely at Coors Field.
