With six strikeouts over five innings, it sure looks like Tyler Anderson may be ready to rejoin the Rockies rotation. The lefty’s successful rehab start on Sunday inched him closer to his activation from the disabled list and return to the big leagues.
Anderson surrendered one run on five hits in the start, the Isotopes offense was left scoreless and saddled him with the loss for the effort. Anderson may make a second rehab start later in the week, but he’s likely not too far from his anticipated return.
The second year pro was supposed to be one of the stable arms in a rotation full of young, unproven talent. But so far this season has been a sophomore slump for Anderson. With his return not too far away, the Rockies will be hoping to see more of 2016 Anderson as they suddenly find themselves in a “too many cooks” situation in their starting rotation.
