A plethora of Rockies prospects were in action on Tuesday night in their respective league All-Star Games.
Nine players from the first-half division champion JetHawks participated in the California League All-Star game, including five in the starting lineup. Brendan Rodgers (no. 1 PuRP), who will be promoted to Double-A Hartford this week, said goodbye to the Cal League in style with an RBI double and a run scored. Garrett Hampson (no. 22 PuRP) went 2-for-5 with two runs scored while Wes Rogers, Sam Hilliard, and Mylz Jones all added hits.
Meanwhile, the South Atlantic League couldn’t finish their All-Star Game due to rain, so they pulled a Bud Selig and called it a tie. Colton Welker (no. 19 PuRP) did not play in the game, but Jose Gomez (no. 30 PuRP) and Max George got to start. Offense was hard to come by in the 3-3 game, and George was the only Tourist to contribute, walking and later scoring a run.
