Rockies vs. Diamondbacks discussion thread: Lineups and score updates

Rockies vs. Diamondbacks score updates and discussion.

Rather than waiting until Sunday to win the series, the Rockies will try and do it in the second game tonight. D.J. LeMahieu will miss his third consecutive game. He was removed from Tuesday’s game with a groin injury that must still be lingering. Raimel Tapia hit his first major-league home run yesterday, and he added a double as well. Tonight, he’ll bat second. Mike Tauchman will start in left field. Ian Desmond has the day off. Tyler Chatwood, road pitcher savant, starts for the Rockies.

The Diamondbacks answer with Zack Greinke. There’s nothing really useful to take from small sample batter versus pitcher stats, but it is fun to remember that Trevor Story has rocked Zack Greinke since he’s been in the majors. Story has slugged .944 against Greinke in 19 plate appearances so far in his career. He should maybe be leading off today!

A win tonight would bring the Rockies within 1.5 games of Arizona for the first Wild Card spot. The game begins at 8:10 MT.
