Rockies closer Greg Holland has reaped the rewards from a strong first half, leading the big leagues in saves and being selected to his third All-Star Game. Holland came to the Rockies from Kansas City after missing all of 2016 rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He told Nick Groke that he never viewed coming to Colorado as a risk and he was confident he could help the team compete for the postseason.

Charlie Blackmon drops Home Run Derby showdown -
Charlie Blackmon turned in one of the best performances by a Rockie in the Home Run Derby, but lost a nail-biter in the quarterfinals to the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger, 15-14. Blackmon said he even surprised himself with his strong showing.
