Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon pulled in sixth inning with possible hamstring injury

The score was 14-4, so the Rockies likely were being extra cautious.

Update 7/19 5:00 pm MT:

Charlie Blackmon is fine and was removed with a cramp per Bud Black.

The Rockies caught a bad break in the bottom of the sixth inning when Charlie Blackmon grabbed his left hamstring after a swing. With the Rockies carrying a 14-4 lead at the time of the injury, Bud Black wasn't going to risk it and pulled Blackmon in the middle of the at bat. Pat Valaika came to the plate in his spot and quickly singled to make the score 15-4.

The Rockies obviously hope the injury doesn't land Blackmon on the disabled list, but they do have recently-optioned outfielder Raimel Tapia who could fill in if needed. The Rockies also have outfield options on the active roster if they don’t want to DL Blackmon but feel he needs more than tomorrow’s off day to be ready to play.

Blackmon was 3-for-3 in the game before he got pulled, and he’s currently hitting .324/.377/.604 on the year prior to the game.
