Game No. 84 Thread: Rockies vs. Diamondbacks discussion and score updates

Score updates and discussion for the Rockies and Diamondbacks game.

The Colorado Rockies are sending Germán Márquez to the mound in today’s Sunday rubber match against the Arizona Diamondbacks. After missing three full games after leaving Tuesday’s matchup early, D.J. LeMahieu returns to the starting lineup. He’s playing second and is hitting in his accustomed spot in the lineup, the two hole. Ian Desmond had a day off yesterday, but he returns to the starting lineup in left field. He’s batting fifth. Raimel Tapia has been hitting the ball well lately, and he’ll get another start in right field. Ryan Hanigan will catch Márquez today.

The Rockies face 24-year-old righty Taijuan Walker. Walker, who the Diamondbacks acquired this past offseason for Jean Segura, is off to a great start. He has a 3.64 FIP and a 134 ERA+ in 6913 innings pitched. He’s struck out 7.8 batters per nine innings and has walked 3.6. David Peralta, mercifully, is not in the starting lineup for the Diamondbacks. Today’s game starts at 2:10 MT.
