The Rockies and Nationals will begin their three-game series a day later than anticipated. Germán Márquez gets the start for the Rockies, and Tanner Roark starts for the Nationals.
The Rockies made a couple of roster moves earlier today to get clear up the bullpen logjam. They optioned Carlos Estévez back to Triple-A, and they designated Jordan Lyles for assignment. Antonio Senzatela is still available out of the bullpen, though Bud Black will probably not want to go to him unless he has to. Pat Neshek is with the team, and he could make his Rockies debut tonight.
To replace Estévez and Lyles, the Rockies called up Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Albuquerque and re-instead Greg Holland from paternity leave. Tapia’s not starting, however. Gerardo Parra is starting in left field and Carlos González in right. Tony Wolters will catch Márquez.
The Nationals and Rockies will play a day/night doubleheader tomorrow. Both teams will be able to call up someone to serve as the 26th man on the active roster.
