Chad Bettis threw to his first live hitters since spring training yesterday. He threw 25 pitches to Pat Valaika and Mike Tauchman. As far as a time frame going for, it appears that he will throw at least one more bullpen session before starting rehab and he'll probably need close to month of rehab appearance to build up his pitch count.

The title says it all. There has been some debate among fans about whether or not Bettis would come back as a starter or a reliever this season. The current plan is for him to be returning to the rotation.
