Colorado Rockies prospect Garrett Hampson continues strong August in Lancaster win

The JetHawks infielder had 3 hits in an 8-2 win over San Jose.

Lancaster JetHawks second baseman and 2016 third-round pick Garrett Hampson had three hits in an 8-2 win over the San Jose Giants on Thursday.

It was the third time in five games that Hampson has had three hits, raising his batting average to .318 on the season for Lancaster. Overall, he is hitting .318/.378/.450 with 39 extra-base hits, including 10 triples and seven home runs.

There were no extra-base hits for Hampson Thursday, but he did have a trio of singles, adding his 46th stolen base of the season and scored a run in the sixth inning to his performance. It was the continuation of a hot August for the Long Beach State product that has seen him hit .388 with a 1.034 OPS in 16 games this month.
